About this role

California Retina Consultants, a busy, well-established retina only group, is seeking a board eligible/board certified Retina Specialist for its Bakersfield location.

Since 1969, California Retina Consultants has emerged as a world-class specialty practice serving as a center of excellence for medical and surgical vitreoretinal care, with 12 locations spanning from the Central Coast to inland communities. We also have affiliations with UC Santa Barbara Neuroscience Center, the Diabetes Collaborative Research Consortium, and Eye Disorder Consortium.

California Retina Consultants is a leader in clinical trial research through a fellowship program with the California Retina Research Foundation (CRRF), and our physicians have played a substantial role in groundbreaking national and international clinical trials, including those for wet AMD and diabetic retinopathy.

In addition to being highly challenged professionally, in joining our practice, you can expect to be well compensated for your efforts and would enjoy:

  • Highly competitive compensation of $400K-600K+ in years 1-3 with rapid partner track with no buy-in or loans to pay. Current average partner salary is in excess of $1 million annually; further details to be shared during interview process.
  • Profit interests granted on day one of employment.
  • Extremely competitive sign on and bonus incentive for experienced surgeons and relocation assistance
  • Full benefits including company paid health insurance and dental insurance, 401K, and more
  • 4 - day work week for optimal work life balance
  • Generous CME allowance; company funded licensing, dues, and subscriptions
  • Fully funded malpractice
  • PTO, holidays, and parental leave
  • State of the art equipment
  • Seasoned support staff

Bakersfield is a family friendly community with plentiful parks, recreational activities like golf and white-water rafting, and with a more attractive cost of living than many other California cities. Take a stroll through our antique district, arts district, and enjoy the symphony orchestra without having to leave town. Dubbed, “Nashville Westâ€, Bakersfield is renowned for its contributions to country music and is the home of many recording artists.

Bakersfield enjoys a low desert climate with warm, arid days and plenty of sunshine—in fact, Bakersfield has more sunny days than any other city in the Central Valley. Exploring is easy, with Bakersfield conveniently located within a two hour drive from bustling downtown Los Angeles, gorgeous Pacific Coast beaches, or the high mountains of Sequoia National Park. Live better in Bakersfield!

Interested parties, please send CV to Janet Frongillo at jfrongillo@retinaconsultantsofamerica.com.
