Position Description
This is an in-person internship based in Fresno, CA.
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for working with our Innovation team to implement and optimize artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, construction enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, finance platforms, and job costing applications across the Lyles Group family of companies. This role focuses on emerging technology research, AI implementation support, system integration projects, and data analysis that drive operational transformation.
This role offers exposure to the full innovation lifecycle—from identifying technology opportunities and evaluating emerging tools to implementing solutions and measuring their impact on construction operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about applying artificial intelligence and modern software development to solve real-world industry challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the implementation and optimization of AI solutions within construction ERP systems, finance platforms, and job costing applications
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including machine learning frameworks, automation tools, and construction specific software platforms
- Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvements and efficiency gains across construction projects
- Assist in building and enhancing web applications using the team's .NET, Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS stack to deliver AI-powered features and internal tools
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and project management teams to understand technology needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Create documentation for AI implementations, system integrations, and innovation workflows to support knowledge transfer and scalability
- Participate in proof-of-concept projects testing new technologies before enterprise-wide deployment
- Support ERP system configuration, testing, and user acceptance activities as part of digital transformation initiatives
- Develop web-based dashboards and internal tools using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS that make complex construction data accessible to decision-makers
- Assist in training and change management activities as new technologies are rolled out to end users
- Monitor industry trends in construction technology, PropTech, and enterprise AI to inform strategic innovation planning
- Contribute to cross-functional innovation projects involving multiple Lyles Group subsidiaries
- Present research findings and project updates to Innovation team leadership and stakeholders
- Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
- Previous internship or project experience with modern web frameworks (React, Next.js), .NET, Python, or enterprise software development preferred
- Demonstrated interest in construction technology, PropTech, or digital transformation through coursework, projects, or independent learning
- Experience in coursework with web development technologies such as React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, or similar frontend frameworks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Completed coursework in web development, programming, data structures, databases, or artificial intelligence preferred.
- Programming experience in one or more of: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#/.NET, or SQL
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools, or experience integrating AI services into applications
- Understanding of database systems, RESTful APIs, and modern web architecture
- Strong research skills and ability to quickly evaluate new technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
