Description
We are seeking passionate and experienced Camp Counselors to work at our one-week overnight summer music camp, June 21-28, 2026, in Angwin CA.
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Camp Counselors to lead our Overnight Choral Music Summer Camp. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to inspire young singers, foster a love of music, and create a memorable summer experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will oversee daily activities, support musical rehearsals, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for all campers.
Duties
- Supervise and engage campers during overnight stays, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with daily rehearsals, vocal training sessions, and musical activities aligned with camp curriculum
- Manage camper behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management skills
- Support campers’ social development by encouraging teamwork, respect, and positive interactions
- Coordinate recreational activities such as sports, theater games, or arts & crafts to enrich the camp experience
- Maintain a safe environment by applying first aid when necessary and following health protocols
- Communicate regularly with camp staff and parents regarding camper progress and any concerns
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, tutoring, or camp environments
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle diverse group dynamics
- Knowledge of early childhood education, childhood development, or special education is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in child behavior management or Christian counseling are advantageous
- Passion for working with youth and fostering a positive learning environment
- Ability to lead recreational activities including sports coaching or theater-based exercises
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Other details:
- Room and board will be provided during your stay at camp. Pacific Union College is a vegetarian campus with plant based meat options. Accommodations are in a dorm style room and you may be paired with a fellow counselor depending on availability.
- Compensation is $1125 for up to 81 hours’ work asscheduled by the Camp Director. The overnight camp is scheduled for June 20 to June 28, 2026.
- Must be 18 years of age to be a camp counselor
- Livescan fingerprint background check is required of all employees.
- There will be a mandatory CPR and Staff Training in San Francisco prior to the camp week.
- You are responsible for your own transportation to arrive and depart from Camp. (You must have any required automobile insurance coverage).
- All staff are required to complete a Livescan fingerprint background check and online training courses.
