What you'll be doing
Dendreon is seeking a Chief Commercial Officer/Head of Commercial to lead commercialization strategy and operations and to build critical capabilities for our first-in-class oncology therapies. This leader will have broad responsibility for all aspects of commercialization strategy and operations including, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and all Field Integrated Capabilities to enable Dendreon Oncology product success. This person will design and build a fit-for-purpose capability set and lead critical activities necessary to optimize commercial success. This person will also play a key role in designing and leading enterprise transformation as the company continues to focus on our patient-focused commercial enterprise. This person will sit on the executive team and report to the Vice Chairman.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for…
- Partner with the Vice Chairman and leadership team in all aspects of commercial and business strategy, operations, planning, and performance management.
- Lead development of a comprehensive, cross-functionally integrated, insight-driven commercialization strategy for Dendreon's oncology products and services.
- Lead development and deployment of a comprehensive stage-gated operating plan and oversee all market and company readiness activities leading up to and through the commercial enterprise.
- Build a fit-for-purpose Commercial capability set that meets Dendreon strategic and functional requirements.
- Design and deploy integrated company, disease, and product communication plans in partnership with Medical Affairs and other relevant functions to elevate Dendreon's profile and establish conditions for commercial product success.
- Lead, design, and enable decision making for strategic market models which may include establishment of strategic partnerships in certain geographies.
- Represent the company, build company credibility, and advance critical relationships with key external stakeholders such as KOLs, Patient Advocacy Organizations, Payers, and investors.
- Provide commercial input to drug discovery, pipeline strategy, and program prioritization.

What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...
- BS/BA degree required, advanced business degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry with 10+ years leading and managing commercial functions.
- Experience building commercial capabilities in biotech and/or pharma.
- Experience leading enterprise transformation from Pre-commercial, Commercial and future Commercial expansion phase of the company.
- Close familiarity with the drug development process and deep expertise for relevant commercial input across all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Demonstrated product launch success record that ideally includes introduction of new treatment paradigms and first-in-company launch.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of the trends in US and Global health care markets pertaining to customer and stakeholder landscape, competitive dynamics, regulatory and access environment, delivery systems, channels, and healthcare compliance regulations.
- The ability to work collaboratively with a leadership team, as well as with many outside collaborators.
- Experience with investors and BOD engagement.
- Excellent project management and interpersonal people skills in leading and directing teams to achieve project objectives and goals.
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop commercial models.
- Commercialization experience in the fields of oncology required.
- A powerful sense of urgency with an ability to process information and make decisions quickly.
- Ability to travel 50% plus and as required.
