Role Description:
The Contracts Analyst is a main point of contact with customers for processing their contracts by having regular correspondence with customers. Routinely engages and meets with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve contract challenges. Independently manage daily activities by cultivating strategic relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Participate in meetings with everyone supporting contract success such as customers, company managers, and suppliers to develop plans, organize work, monitor progress and resolve problems. This position reports to Vice President of Contracts & Business Development as part of the AAR CORP Legal Department, with dotted line reporting to the Business Unit.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of contracts including entering contracts, performing contract reviews, accurate data entry, ensuring contracts are delivered on time and leading all post-award contract administration efforts.
- Investigate and reconcile significant contract changes, modifications involving cost, specifications, documentation revisions, and schedules.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships as point of contact with internal and external customers, including US Government contract specialists, and the DCMA administrative contracting officers, for processing contracts.
- Interpreting contract requirements, impact of contract changes, and supporting development of U.S. Government Contract proposals.
- Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for terms and conditions prior to the processing of the vendor quote, and coordinate with GOV buying commands or subcontractors, vendors regarding the issuance of contract modifications.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Defense group to ensure the highest service level; this includes actively participating in group meetings, project teams and consistently striving to improve the organization’s business goals.
- Research Government sites for new open solicitations, including working with GOV agencies for continuous updated material.
- Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for special requirements prior to the processing of the vendor quote.
- Receive written quote from Sr. Defense Contract Administrator.
- Electronically file bids to GOV buying commands.
- All other duties assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent four-year college or technical school; or five to seven years of related industry or Government experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and Agency Supplements, with emphasis on parts 12, 13, and 15; prior work with DLA preferred, and experience using government systems and online portals that include SAM.gov, PIEE/WAWF, VSM, SIR, and DCMA eTools.
- Proficient using Microsoft360 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Prior experience using SyteLine ERP (preferred)
- Must have strong proven business communication skills for engaging effectively with customers and colleagues both verbally and in writing.
