About us:
B-Town Brazadas Swim Club (brazadas.org) is a brand-new USA Swimming affiliated club, less than one year old and growing rapidly in Bakersfield, California. We train in a brand new, state-of-the-art 50-meter aquatic center and are building a long-term, community-focused program from the ground up.
We are seeking a highly organized, experienced, and forward-thinking Head Age Group Coach to serve as a key leader within the organization. This position reports directly to the Aquatics Director and will oversee age group development, help build strong systems and culture, and contribute to both competitive team and swim school growth.
The ideal candidate is structured, detail oriented, business minded, and passionate about developing swimmers while helping build a sustainable and impactful club.

What you get to do:
Coaching Leadership
- Serve as lead coach for two competitive age group training groups
- Design and implement seasonal training plans aligned with club philosophy
- Develop athletes toward B-Team and Senior program readiness
- Provide high level technical instruction across all four strokes, starts, turns, and race strategy
- Lead athlete development and progression within the age group program
- Contribute to Masters programming as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Swim School Leadership
- Provide leadership support and oversight to swim school programming
- Collaborate with the Aquatics Director on curriculum, staffing structure, and program growth
- Help ensure swim school serves as a strong feeder into the competitive team
Administrative Leadership
- Serve as primary contact for club email and phone communications
- Manage staff scheduling
- Coordinate meet entries, team travel logistics, and competition communication
- Lead family outreach, education, and new member orientation including swim team tryouts
- Contribute to newsletter and social media communication
- Participate in staff meetings and strategic planning
- Perform other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $70,000 to $75,000 annually
Performance Incentive: Up to $10,000 annual bonus based on measurable performance and program growth goals

Requirements
What you bring to the role:
- Minimum five years of coaching experience
- Current USA Swimming coach member in good standing, or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Experience in swim instruction or aquatic program coordination
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and structured with strong attention to detail
- Forward thinking planner who anticipates needs
- Community minded and relationship driven
- Business awareness and understanding of program growth
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard or Coaches Safety Training certifications, or willingness to obtain
- Proficiency in administrative and communication tools
- College degree preferred but not required
