Our optometry office is located in the small town of Sierra Madre, which is nestled between Arcadia, Pasadena, and Monrovia. We're looking for an optometrist to join our team to wow patients, help us eradicate myopia and alleviate keratoconic woes! This part-time opportunity is almost like a specialty contact lens residency in that we'll pour everything we know into you to help you learn and grow.

Who we are:

• We started Lumen Optometric in 2017 cold and built our loyal patient base through building relationships and providing meticulous care and thorough patient education
• We are looking to invest in someone who wants to learn and grow. We will mentor you every step of the way.
• Our staff is highly trained on specialty care. They take all the scans (all pretesting, topos, tomos, AXL) and insert all the lenses (sclerals, OK, GP).
• We have 3 VAs that provide support to the docs and to our staff

Who you are:

• Passionate about providing comprehensive patient education to wow our patients, please see our Yelp reviews as an example
• Great at communicating clearly and effectively (we have a turn-key Masterclass to help with this)
• Someone who wants patients to spread the word about how great your care is
• Someone who has a positive attitude, appreciates constructive criticism, and is always looking to be helpful as a team player

What you'll do:

• Providing an engaging, enthusiastic and memorable experience for everyone who walks through the door
• Be able to introduce new forms of treatment to every patient that is a good candidate
• Describe the features and benefits of various optical/contact lenses to patients
• You will never be expected to run before you can walk. We value doing things right and feeling confident when providing care, so you'll be trained up before expecting to provide any specialty care

Areas where we will train you to competency (even if you have zero experience):

• Providing myopia management consultations, we are part of Treehouse Eyes 
• Creating WAVE ortho-k lenses with a Pentacam Wave AXL for both myopic and hyperopic patients
• Creating freeform scleral lenses with the Pentacam
• Elevating scleral performance with HOA optics via the Ovitz aberrometer
• Fine-tuning your spectacle and contact lens prescribing and your prescribing mentality
• Maintaining our 86% daily disposable makeup of our contact lens patient population
• Neurolens prescribing and patient education

Woah, sounds like a lot:

• It is, but you will learn things one step at a time with the full support of our team.
• Patients will instantly know you're a different echelon of eye doctor

Other details:

• Be able to work Tues, Friday, and Saturday.
• Patient flow: we are *not* a high churn office. We see 45min comps with 30 min specialty patients.
• We offer sick days and a 401(k) match.
