Role Overview
We are partnered with a top real estate finance company that is looking for a Vice President of Product Management to join their team in the Irvine, CA area. This Product Management leader is responsible for shaping and delivering the company's product direction across its core lending and operations platforms. This leader works closely with business, operations, sales, and technology teams to turn company goals into practical, scalable product solutions that improve efficiency, speed, and customer experience.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution. The VP of Product Management ensures products are built thoughtfully, work well together, and can grow with the business in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Leadership & Strategy
- Set a clear product vision and roadmap that supports business growth and long‑term goals
- Lead and develop a strong product management team, establishing consistent processes and best practices
- Translate high‑level business objectives into clear product priorities and deliverables
- Ensure products are designed to scale and adapt as the business evolves
Platform & Product Ownership
- Oversee core business platforms that support customer onboarding, decisioning, pricing, and ongoing account management
- Drive improvements that increase automation, reduce manual work, and improve turnaround times
- Partner closely with engineering and data teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality solutions
- Balance new feature development with system stability, performance, and long‑term maintainability
- Coordinate work across internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth delivery
Growth & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve customer and partner experiences through better workflows and self‑service tools
- Use data and feedback to prioritize enhancements that reduce friction and operational cost
- Support the launch of new products and capabilities from concept through rollout
- Ensure innovation is delivered responsibly within regulatory and risk constraints
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders across business, operations, sales, and marketing
- Align product plans with revenue goals, risk management, and operational capacity
- Clearly communicate priorities, progress, and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders
- Define realistic delivery plans that support both near‑term needs and long‑term strategy
Operational Excellence
- Serve as a subject matter expert for key post‑launch and operational workflows
- Support major releases and ensure successful adoption across teams
- Gather input from users and stakeholders to continuously improve product performance
- Lead requirement definition, testing, and approval of changes
- Ensure systems remain reliable, compliant, and well‑documented
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably within financial services or technology‑enabled businesses
- Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional product initiatives
- Strong understanding of regulated environments and operational workflows
- Experience working closely with engineering, data, and business teams
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Comfortable operating in fast‑moving environments while maintaining structure and discipline
Preferred Experience
- Background in lending, credit, or financial services platforms
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or launching new platforms
- Familiarity with risk management, pricing, or capital considerations
- Experience supporting high‑growth organizations
