Description
The Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association (WSSCA) seeks a Finance Coordinator to manage all financial operations and maintain the organization's fiscal health. This position is responsible for the complete financial management of WSSCA, including revenue collection, expenditure oversight, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Financial Management & Oversight
- Oversee the overall financial status of WSSCA, including monitoring income, expenses, and fund balances
- Serve as the custodian of all WSSCA funds, ensuring proper safeguarding and management of organizational assets
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure sound fiscal practices
- Prepare regular financial reports for the Board of Directors and membership
- Maintain employee records through the third party payroll service provider
- Prepare and submit monthly payroll
Membership Administration
- Maintain accurate and current membership lists and databases
- Process new member applications and membership renewals
- Ensure membership records are properly organized and accessible
Revenue & Collections
- Bill and collect membership dues in a timely manner
- Track outstanding dues and implement collection procedures
- Process all membership payments and maintain detailed records
- Reconcile membership revenue with organizational records
Accounts Payable & Disbursements
- Review and authorize payment of all WSSCA obligations
- Ensure timely payment of invoices, contracts, and other financial commitments
- Maintain organized records of all expenditures
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial tracking
Compliance & Reporting
- Arrange for and oversee the annual financial review or audit
- Prepare and file all required Internal Revenue Service compliance forms
- Ensure WSSCA maintains compliance with all applicable financial regulations
- Coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably with nonprofit organizations
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and IRS compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and membership database systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for reporting to the Board and membership
