PROGRAMMING Starrag USA, Inc. has an opening available in Huntington Beach, CA for an Applications Engineer Bumotec to act as CAM programmer for 8-axis machines for complex & small parts; Design & test cutting tools; Optimize customers' existing machining processes; Conduct operator training on 8-axis machines; Perform runoff in accordance w/ customer part requirements; Provide programming training for 8-axis machines; Conduct training in RCS CAM software; Prepare documentation for app.-related matters; Prepare time & feasibility studies; Carry out customer test cuts; Train sales team on new machine technologies; & Communicate w/ factory in Switzerland on the latest machine devs. Remote work allowed 1 day/wk. Approx. 50% domestic travel to customer sites nationwide & to Starrag USA, Inc. HQ in Kentucky, & less than 5% int'l travel to customer sites in Canada, Mexico & the global hq in Switzerland. Need: Vocational High School Diploma w/ concentration in manufacturing mechanics, or related, or foreign diploma evaluated to be the U.S. equiv. 2 yrs' in: As an Applications or Mechanical Engineer or Technologist, or closely related; Programming CNC Mill-Turn & Lathe machines; Programming 5-axis CAM systems; ISO G-code programming; 8-axis Mill-Turn type machine w/ sub spindles; Developing cutting strategy for micro mechanic parts; training customers on new machines; Fanuc Controls; & Programming automation systems.
