Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistical Science at the University of Idaho is seeking to fill three positions: a Clinical Professor, and two full-time Instructors in mathematics. The clinical professor and instructors will join a team of individuals that are responsible for instruction in precalculus mathematics. All of these new faculty will have regular teaching responsibilities. As part of their position the clinical professor will also serve as the Director of Introductory Mathematics. They will also be responsible for the leadership of a highly collaborative team of instructors, tutors, and staff that support precalculus courses. These new faculty will also participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new evidence-based approaches to mathematics instruction.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistical Science at the University of Idaho is in Moscow, Idaho, just nine miles from Pullman, Washington, and Washington State University. The department is responsible for undergraduate and graduate education in mathematics and statistics at the university. It offers BS degrees in mathematics and statistics, MS degrees in mathematics and statistics, a MAT in mathematics, and a PhD in mathematics. It is home to the Polya Mathematics Learning Center, which has historically used an emporium model of mathematics instruction for precalculus mathematics.
