Consultant Psychiatrist (FRANZCP) – Castle Hill and/or Penrith, Sydney
$900K+ Earning Potential | Flexible 1–5 Days | Multiple Remuneration Models | Strong Referral Base | DWS Opportunity Available
With nearly 30 years of experience in mental health care, Tranquil Minds Psychology & Psychiatry Solutions (TMPPS) is an established and growing multi-site, multidisciplinary private mental health organisation. We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) to join our expanding practices in Castle Hill and/or Penrith, NSW.
We offer psychiatrists the flexibility to consult from Castle Hill, Penrith, or across both locations, with face-to-face, Telehealth and blended consulting arrangements available.
TMPPS has a strong and established referral network with consistent demand across Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We welcome psychiatrists with a broad range of clinical interests and subspecialties and do not wish to restrict this opportunity to any particular area of psychiatry.
We are experiencing particularly strong unmet demand for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as significant patient and family demand for female psychiatrists. Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry would therefore be highly welcomed but is not essential. All suitably qualified Consultant Psychiatrists are encouraged to apply.

Flexible Private Practice Opportunity
We recognise that experienced psychiatrists have different professional commitments, financial preferences and private practice goals.
Whether you are seeking to establish a substantial private caseload, transition further into private practice, or simply add one or two consulting days per week alongside your existing commitments, we are happy to structure an arrangement around your availability and preferences.
Psychiatrists can choose to work from our Castle Hill practice, Penrith practice, or a combination of both.
Our expanding Telehealth capability also provides opportunities for psychiatrists who prefer a blended model incorporating both face-to-face and remote consultations, where clinically appropriate.
Practitioners are welcome to commence with as little as one day per week, with the opportunity to increase consulting days as desired.
Highly Competitive & Flexible Remuneration
TMPPS recognises that there is no single remuneration model that suits every psychiatrist. We therefore offer multiple remuneration structures, allowing us to develop an arrangement that works for both the practitioner and the practice.
Based on our established referral demand and current psychiatry activity, earning potential of $900K+ per annum is achievable for psychiatrists consulting approximately 4 days per week.
Actual earnings will depend on consulting schedule, fees, patient volumes, working weeks, individual practice patterns and the remuneration model selected. The $900K+ figure represents earning potential rather than a guaranteed salary.
Penrith – DWS / Section 19AB Opportunity
Our Penrith practice may provide an important opportunity for suitably eligible psychiatrists subject to section 19AB and the 10-year moratorium, where applicable DWS requirements are satisfied.
We particularly welcome enquiries from overseas-trained psychiatrists and other eligible specialists who may require a District of Workforce Shortage (DWS) location and section 19AB exemption to access Medicare benefits.
Individual eligibility remains subject to the applicable Australian Government requirements, DWS classification and approval of the relevant Medicare provider arrangements.
Strong and Diverse Referral Demand
TMPPS receives direct referrals through an established network of GPs, specialists, allied-health practitioners, Insurance, solicitors, DCJ and other referral pathways.
Our psychiatry demand spans a broad range of presentations and patient groups, including:
- Adult Psychiatry
- Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Medico-Legal and Forensic Psychology and Psychiatry presentations
- ADHD and neurodevelopmental presentations
- Mood and anxiety disorders
- Complex mental health presentations
- Ongoing psychiatric management and medication review
Modern, Technology-Supported Practice
TMPPS continues to invest in modern infrastructure and technology to support clinicians and patients.
We utilise modern, secure cloud-based clinical and practice-management applications to support efficient workflows, appointments, documentation, billing, communication and continuity of care. Our aim is to reduce unnecessary administrative burden for practitioners while providing a safe, professional, supportive and welcoming environment for patients, families and clinicians.
Our experienced administrative team manages the operational aspects of private practice, allowing psychiatrists to focus their time and attention on providing high-quality clinical care.
A Growing Multi-Site Organisation
Tranquil Minds is continuing to grow its physical practice network while also expanding its Telehealth service capability and geographic reach.
Our multi-site model provides practitioners with greater flexibility and creates opportunities to work across different locations and patient populations while remaining part of the same multidisciplinary organisation.
We are interested in developing long-term professional relationships with psychiatrists who would like to grow alongside the organisation.
