Description
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST - SYDNEY PRIVATE CLINICS | AUSTRALIA-WIDE TELEHEALTH
Practice the way you want. The rest is handled.
We are looking for consultant psychiatrists who want the freedom of private practice (in person or telehalth), with the systems, referral base and interventional treatments already in place, from TMS and esketamine to group therapy programs and integrated psychology.
You set your own scope and schedule, backed by a collegiate team, senior support and modern treatment pathways that keep you at the forefront of psychiatric care. Whether you are newly fellowed, well established, or a specialist international medical graduate (SIMG) seeking a Medicare pathway, there is a place for you here.
About Mind Connections
Mind Connections is an established private psychiatry and psychology practice in Sydney’s north-west, with two sites at Carlingford and Norwest (Bella Vista) and telehealth across Australia. Alongside psychiatry and psychology, we provide modern interventional treatments on site, including TMS and esketamine. We have provided specialist mental health care for over 20 years, treated more than 30,000 patients, and seen over 1,500 new patients in the past 12 months. Our referral base covers more than 3,000 GPs, various third party pathways (DVA, ADF, Workers Compensation), and current demand runs ahead of capacity, with waiting times beyond 2 months.
We are expanding our consultant team and welcome psychiatrists who want a well-supported room to consult from, with the option of a genuinely collegiate practice: case discussion, peer review, mentorship if needed and modern interventional treatment pathways.
Why our Psychiatrists choose us
1. Demand from the start. Referrals come from an established GP base, plus direct pathways with WentWest PHN, DVA, ADF, workers’ compensation and major insurers. We commit to guaranteed minimum referral volumes, so your caseload is predictable from day one. 2. Modern, interventional and integrated psychiatry. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and esketamine at both sites, plus structured group therapy programs. With psychologists in-house, internal referrals keep patient care joined up. 3. Two sites, plus telehealth. Carlingford and Norwest, each with on-site parking, dedicated treatment rooms and telehealth in every consulting room. Norwest sits in a medical precinct beside a private hospital. Carlingford is located within a DWS (District of Workforce Shortage), which can support Medicare provider number access for specialist international medical graduates. 4. Your schedule, your scope. You consult as an independent practitioner and set your own days, session structure, telehealth mix and scope. No quotas, no on-call, no after-hours. Colleagues cover leave, so time off is genuinely off. 5. Administration handled. Reception, scheduling, billing, referrals, reminders and marketing run centrally. Modern clinical software with electronic prescribing and AI-assisted scribing keeps your time clinical. 7. New to private practice? We make the move manageable. Many strong psychiatrists have spent their careers in public and hospital settings and have never run a private book. You will have experienced consultants to talk through complex cases, regular peer review, and senior mentorship as you settle in. We also guide you through billing, Medicare and the practice systems, so the clinical work stays your focus while you build confidence in private practice.6. A collegiate practice. Psychiatrists and psychologists work across a range of subspecialties. Regular CPD-accredited peer review, senior mentorship, case discussion, training and GP education sessions support ongoing development.
You focus on care. We bring the patients, team and infrastructure
