Description
The Travelers Indemnity Company has multiple openings for the role of Manager & Senior Data Scientist in Hartford, CT. These positions are 100% remote and may be performed from home.
Manage a variety of statistical analyses, including data mining, predictive modeling and/or actuarial techniques. Review analyses and provide direction and insight. Serve as a subject matter expert with advanced statistical analyses, actuarial and/or research methods, broad business knowledge and/or in-depth line of business knowledge. Lead others and/or one or more advanced research projects, including providing direction to a team of analysts and/or project members.
Must possess at least a Master's degree or its equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical STEM field, including Engineering or Physics, and at least 3 years of experience in any occupation in which experience with relevant Statistical Analysis is gained. In the alternative, must possess at least a PhD or its equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical STEM field, including Engineering or Physics. Must also possess demonstrable experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry with the following: performing quantitative analysis; using SAS or a similar statistical and database management software; using relational database software; and using database principles, predictive modeling statistical methods, including generalized linear models, Decision Trees, cluster analysis, neural networks, text mining, application of multivariate statistical techniques to large scale databases, and/or math programming and optimization modeling.
Approximately 40 hours per week; the salary range for these positions is at least $132,900 to $199,200 per year.
