- NBHWC Course Instructor
Description
Join the team at Holistic Health Educators and help shape the next generation of National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coaches.
We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and student-focused instructor to teach within our NBHWC-approved Health & Wellness Coach Training Program. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, excels at facilitating adult learning, and is committed to developing confident, ethical, and highly skilled health coaches.
In this role, you will deliver curriculum aligned with National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) standards, model exceptional coaching skills, facilitate interactive learning experiences, provide meaningful student feedback, and help prepare learners for board certification and professional success.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of NBHWC coaching competencies, ethics, and behavior change principles
Experience facilitating or teaching adult learners preferred
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Passion for mentoring and supporting student success
Background in holistic health is a plus, but not required

Requirements
Required
Current NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach) credential for instructors teaching core coaching competencies.
At least 200 hours of health and wellness coaching practice for faculty teaching the coaching curriculum.
Demonstrated knowledge of:Motivational Interviewing
Behavior Change Theories
NBHWC Core Competencies
NBHWC Scope of Practice
NBHWC Code of Ethics
Client-centered coaching communication
Ability to assess student coaching skills and provide constructive, competency-based feedback.
Educational Background
For health and wellness content, NBHWC requires that portions of the curriculum be delivered by faculty with one of the following:
Teach curriculum aligned with the NBHWC Content Outline.
Model professional coaching conversations and coaching presence.
Facilitate experiential learning, demonstrations, and practice coaching.
Evaluate coaching competencies using NBHWC Practical Skills Assessment (PSA) criteria.
Provide timely, individualized feedback that supports student growth.
Uphold the NBHWC Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.
Foster an inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe learning environment.
Experience teaching adult learners (online or in person).
Experience mentoring or supervising health coaches.
Background in holistic health, integrative health, lifestyle medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, fitness, or behavioral health.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Experience with virtual learning platforms such as Zoom and learning management systems.
