Description
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) sports medicine physician with an interest in expanding pediatric and adolescent sports medicine while continuing to care for adult athletes. The position will serve as a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor track.
The UC Davis PM&R Sports Medicine program is one of the West Coast's leading academic non-operative sports medicine practices. As demand for pediatric and adolescent sports medicine continues to grow throughout Northern California, we are expanding our sports medicine faculty to better serve young athletes while maintaining our comprehensive adult sports medicine practice.
Working alongside nationally recognized colleagues across UC Davis Health, the successful candidate will help advance innovative clinical programs, educate trainees at all levels, and care for active children, adolescents, and adults across the spectrum—from youth and recreational athletes to collegiate athletes at UC Davis and professional athletes with Sacramento Republic FC.
This position is ideally suited for someone excited to shape the future of Sports Medicine at UC Davis Health by expanding one of the nation's premier integrated academic sports medicine programs within one of the nation's leading PM&R departments
Requirements
This position will provide clinical care at least four days per week. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participating in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.
Candidates must possess:
- M.D. or D.O. (or equivalent)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in one of the following:
o Pediatrics
o Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
o Family Medicine
o Internal Medicine - Fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine (or equivalent ACGME Sports Medicine
fellowship) - Board certification or board eligibility in their primary specialty
- Eligibility for California medical licensure
This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant to Associate Professor ranks, with the resulting appointment commensurate with relevant experience. The initial base salary range for this position is $250,600-$283,200 at the Assistant rank and $283,300-$312,700 at the Associate rank, plus opportunities for incentive pay. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
