JW Zepeda Law Firm is hiring a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney with 4–8 years of litigation experience to join our growing Texas litigation team.
This is a plaintiff-side personal injury litigation role for an attorney who wants real responsibility, meaningful courtroom experience, and the opportunity to fight for injured Texans.
We are looking for a litigation attorney who can take ownership of cases and move them forward through pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and resolution.
- Manage a personal injury litigation docket
- Develop case strategies and litigation plans
- Draft and review petitions, pleadings, motions, discovery, discovery responses, demand packages, mediation statements, and settlement documents
- Handle written discovery and document production
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial
- Attend hearings, mediations, court conferences, and other case-related proceedings
- Negotiate settlements from a position of preparation and strength
- Review medical records, medical bills, liability evidence, damages evidence, expert reports, and case-value issues
- Maintain strong communication with clients and provide meaningful case updates
- Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, senior attorneys, and firm leadership
- Prepare cases for trial
- Help improve litigation workflows, templates, checklists, and overall case quality
- Handle other types of litigation when needed; attorneys willing and able to take on additional litigation responsibilities may qualify for increased compensation
- Base salary of $120,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience
- Full benefits package
- Potential contingency-fee splits or performance-based compensation, subject to case type, contribution, origination, and firm approval
- Reimbursement for approved business travel expenses
- Firm-arranged travel when practical and approved in advance

Approved travel expenses must be supported by receipts for reimbursement. When travel can reasonably be arranged in advance by the firm, the firm may arrange travel directly.
This position is for a Texas litigation attorney who wants to fight for injured clients, take ownership of cases, and perform meaningful plaintiff-side litigation work.

Requirements
- Active Texas law license in good standing
- 4–8 years of litigation experience
- Experience litigating personal injury cases or comparable civil litigation matters
- Experience practicing in Texas state courts
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and case-management skills
- Experience handling pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, hearings, and mediations
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and a busy litigation docket
- Strong client communication skills
- High ethical standards, professional judgment, and accountability
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff
- Ability to travel within Texas for court appearances, depositions, mediations, trials, and other case-related matters as necessary
- Plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
- Motor vehicle accident, trucking accident, premises liability, wrongful death, or catastrophic injury experience
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience
- Federal court experience
- Experience with contingency-fee litigation
- Experience reviewing medical records, medical bills, expert reports, and damages evidence
- Experience preparing demand packages and mediation statements
- Proficiency with legal technology, case-management software, and e-filing systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish ability preferred
