PM Dishwasher / Prep CookCompensation: $20-24/hour + service charge
Schedule: Afternoon/Evening Shifts
Department: Food & Beverage / Culinary
Reports To: Executive Chef & Sous Chefs
Position Overview
The PM Dishwasher/Prep Cook plays a key role in supporting the culinary team and ensuring smooth evening operations. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment while assisting with basic food preparation for dinner service, events, and next-day production. As part of a private club, this role contributes directly to the member experience through consistency, reliability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Stewarding
- Operate dish machine and hand-wash items as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and cookware
- Keep dish area organized, sanitized, and free of hazards
- Manage trash, recycling, and compost removal
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors during and after service
- Assist with closing duties and end-of-night cleaning
Prep Cook Duties
- Perform basic prep tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and labeling
- Follow recipes and direction from chefs for evening prep needs
- Assist with banquet/event setup prep as assigned
- Properly store ingredients and maintain FIFO standards
- Support line cooks during service with restocking and light cooking tasks (as trained)
Standards & Safety
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Handle equipment safely and report maintenance needs
- Uphold club standards for professionalism, teamwork, and reliability
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
