Pool Server / Runner - Part Time
Compensation: $16.90/hour + service charge
Season: Mid-May through Summer
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Food & Beverage Director, Pool Captain

Position Overview
The Pool Server/Runner plays a key role in delivering a warm, attentive, and seamless experience for members and guests enjoying the pool facilities. This position is highly visible, guest-facing, and requires a friendly, welcoming presence throughout the day. Servers and runners will work interchangeably to support smooth operations, maintain cleanliness, and ensure timely service in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
Member Service & Hospitality
Greet members and guests with a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor

Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently

Conduct regular rounds throughout the pool deck to anticipate needs

Deliver orders promptly and ensure accuracy

Maintain a polished, member-first approach at all times

Operational Duties
Perform all opening and closing responsibilities, including:

Setting up and breaking down service areas

Turning pool music on/off

Rolling and stocking towels

Taking out trash and maintaining a clean environment

Ensuring members and guests sign in daily

Keep the pool deck tidy by clearing plates, glassware, and debris

Support both server and runner functions as needed

Maintain accurate order entry and ensure correct charges to member accounts

Assist with restocking, organization, and general upkeep of the pool service area

Work Environment
Work outdoors in warm, cool, or variable weather conditions

Remain active and on your feet for extended periods

Navigate a fast-paced, high-volume environment during peak summer days

Qualifications
Must hold a valid driver's license

Must have a current Food Handler's Certification

Must have a valid alcohol service permit (California)

Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred, but not required

Strong attention to detail, especially with order accuracy and member billing

Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move safely around wet surfaces

Must be available to work on July 4th
