Description
The National Grants Management Association (NGMA) is seeking a Public Member to serve on the CGMS Certification Council. The Certification Council is a division of NGMA formed to independently govern, oversee, and manage the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) certification program. The Certification Council is composed of 7 CGMS certificants, 1 NGMA Board appointed member, and 1 Public Member. The Certification Council meets virtually.
The Public Member is a full voting member on the Certification Council. The Public Member is a representative of the consumers of services provided by the CGMS population and will champion the public or consumer interest, contribute an unbiased perspective, and bring additional public accountability and responsiveness.
Requirements
The public member candidate should have a track record of advocacy on behalf of the public interest, a basic understanding of certification and accreditation, and previous experience serving on a governing or advisory committee/board of a business, association, or similar entity. The Public Member is not an NGMA member, does not hold the CGMS certification, and does not work in the grants management field. The Public Member will serve a 3-year term ending 4/30/2029.
