Real Property Agent - Utility
Location
Northern California – Position is remote work, but candidate needs to reside in northern California as occasional field visits may be necessary.
Interwest is seeking an experienced agent to perform a range of right of way related work to support utility infrastructure. The Real Property Agent will provide technical and administrative support for utilities in Central and/or Northern California, and will comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, including the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act (1970) as amended. This role involves interpreting real property-related documents, understanding easement language and vesting, reviewing parcel maps, and working with property owners to obtain acquisition documents.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned tasks on time while maintaining high professional standards and client satisfaction.
- Responsible for managing and executing project activities, under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Update and maintain database, file information and diaries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review and understand project maps, engineering designs, title reports, vesting deeds, property profiles, appraisals, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate meetings with property owners, tenants, subconsultants and other stakeholders, as needed.
- Present offers, negotiate and justify proposed settlements for clients/files.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the Project Manager and project team.
Qualities, Skills, and Requirements
- A current California Department of Real Estate Sales or Brokers license is required.
- Must reside in Central or Northern California due to occasional site visits.
- Demonstrated knowledge of real estate practices and principles.
- Depth of experience with acquisition documents, notices, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in reading and understanding legal descriptions and exhibit maps.
- Must have strong oral communication and writing skills, and be customer focused.
- Demonstrate a high level of experience planning and organizing workload, adjusting to changing priorities, and working well under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Must be self-reliant, capable of following map directions to property locations, and able to perform field inspections, as needed.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic database management systems.

Salary Range: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
