Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C., the nation’s premier health care law firm, is seeking a talented Regulatory Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join one of our offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, or Washington, D.C.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside some of the country’s leading health care attorneys on complex and high-impact regulatory matters affecting hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, and other providers across the health care continuum. This litigation-focused regulatory position involves challenges to agency action, administrative appeals, and other complex disputes arising under federal and state health care programs. The associate will primarily focus on regulatory litigation, Administrative Procedure Act challenges, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement disputes, audits, government investigations, False Claims Act defense, and other fraud and abuse matters, while supporting one of the industry’s most respected reimbursement and regulatory practices. The position will involve substantial briefing, appellate advocacy, and administrative and judicial litigation concerning Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health care programs. Associates in this practice work on matters that frequently involve precedent-setting reimbursement, administrative law, and regulatory issues with nationwide impact.
We are looking for candidates with outstanding academic credentials, exceptional research, analytical, writing, and litigation skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a demonstrated interest in health law and policy. The ideal candidate will be interested in sophisticated administrative law and appellate litigation and will want to develop deep expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and the legal and policy frameworks governing the U.S. health care system. Experience with, or a strong interest in, Administrative Procedure Act litigation, reimbursement appeals, government investigations, False Claims Act defense, and other health care regulatory disputes is particularly valued. Judicial clerkship experience and government service are highly valued.

The salary range for this position is $205,000 to $310,000 annually, with actual compensation based on qualifications and experience.
