Salary: $212,534 – $278,387/yr
The Opportunity
The Metropolitan Water District is seeking three (3) Senior Deputy General Counsels to join our 20+ member legal team. These high-level roles act as lead counsel and strategic advisors for the infrastructure and policies sustaining Southern California’s water future.
Core Legal Tracks
We are seeking litigation experts in one or more of the following areas:
- Labor & Employment Law: Expertise in MMBA, PERB proceedings, and Skelly rights.
- Environmental & Water Law: Knowledge of CEQA/NEPA, CWA, ESA, and the Law of the Colorado River.
- Public Agency Litigation: Handling complex writ of mandate proceedings, public finance, and construction contract disputes.
Key Qualifications

Skills: Proven first-chair litigation experience and ability to manage outside counsel.
License: Active member of the California State Bar.
