Mastagni Holstedt, A.P.C. is actively seeking a Senior Attorney to join its growing Workers’ Compensation practice in Sacramento. The Senior Workers’ Compensation Attorney will lead complex workers’ compensation matters from initial intake through resolution, drive case strategy, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You will play a vital role in resolving claims as expeditiously and efficiently as possible, along with collaborating and mentoring junior staff on case strategy and client representation.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced attorney who is confident handling matters independently, demonstrates strong mastery of workers’ compensation law and procedure, and is interested in contributing to the continued growth of a dynamic law firm.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage a caseload of applicant-side workers’ compensation matters from initial intake through resolution, including settlement or trial.
- Represent clients in depositions, along with conferences, trials, and hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board or other appointments.
- Draft legal correspondence and motions; manage discovery, evidence development, and medical-legal strategy.
- Negotiate settlements and lien resolutions.
- Maintain proactive client communication and regular communication with insurance carriers, employers, or third-party administrators.
- Provide proactive case management and stategic legal guidance to clients.
- Provide leadership through mentoring junior attorneys or other legal staff. May provide internal and external training, seminars, or legal updates to clients or staff. May attend client events as needed.

Salary & Benefits:
Pay: $180,000.00 -- $200,000.00 commensurate with experience and skills.
Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, sick leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, and 401(k).
Job Type: Full-time, in-office
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Licensed by and in good standing with the California Bar.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of workers’ compensation experience as a practicing attorney.
- Strong negotiation skills, research proficiency, and excellent working knowledge of medical-legal terminology.
- Demonstrated advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively represent and defend client interests.
