Description
OVERVIEW
Scott Wiener for Congress is seeking a sharp, social-native Social Media Associate to support the campaign's fast-moving social media program. We're working to elect Senator Scott Wiener to represent California's 11th Congressional District (San Francisco), and social media is central to how we reach, grow, and mobilize our audience. This is an entry-level role built for someone who lives on the platforms, has a real feel for political and internet culture, and wants to learn — from the ground up — how to run social for one of the most-followed congressional campaigns in the country.
This position reports directly to the campaign's Social Media Manager and works closely with the broader digital and communications teams to plan, create, publish, and monitor content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Threads, and other channels. Our content blends real policy substance with self-aware humor and quick-twitch trend-jacking, so you should be equally comfortable drafting a punchy caption, cutting a Reel, and jumping on a breaking-news moment.
The ideal candidate is endlessly online, fast, organized, and a strong writer with a good ear for voice and timing — someone who can take clear direction and bring their own ideas to the table.
