Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to join the Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Service. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a comprehensive and evolving service within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The Role
You will work across a range of service settings including inpatient, community, and early intervention teams, providing comprehensive psychiatric care for children, adolescents and young adults.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high quality, evidence-based assessment, treatment and care
- Providing clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting service development across inpatient, outpatient, outreach and telehealth models of care
- Working across services including Alcohol, Illicit and Other Drugs Service and early intervention programs
- Contributing to innovative, patient centred service delivery
- Providing teaching, supervision and support to trainees and multidisciplinary staff
- Promoting culturally safe and responsive care
About You
You are a motivated and collaborative psychiatrist with a passion for improving outcomes for young people.
You will have:
- Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
- Eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia

Remuneration and Benefits

- Remuneration in accordance with the Queensland Health Medical Officers’ Award
