SAGE Veterinary Centers in San Francisco is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join our outstanding specialty team. This is an opportunity to practice advanced oncology medicine within a collaborative, multidisciplinary hospital while working alongside experienced specialists and a highly trained support team.

Our multidisciplinary team includes specialists in Medical Oncology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Radiology, Anesthesia, and Critical Care, along with an experienced ER team that includes multiple internship-trained emergency doctors. You'll also have the support of highly trained RVTs, including a VTS in Emergency and Critical Care, and a specialty-specific CSR dedicated to each service.
The hospital is equipped to support complex specialty and oncology cases, with a fully equipped ICU, three modern surgical suites with minimally invasive surgery capabilities, C-arm, EEG/EMG, on-site CT, and GE Signa 1.5T MRI.
We're also open to locum veterinarians, making this an excellent opportunity for an oncologist interested in exploring the SAGE environment or seeking greater flexibility.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage a diverse and complex oncology caseload within a busy specialty and emergency hospital
- Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans for patients with a variety of malignancies
- Oversee chemotherapy protocols and provide thoughtful, patient-centered treatment recommendations
- Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Radiology, and Emergency teams
- Utilize advanced diagnostic capabilities, including CT and MRI, to support oncology workups and treatment planning
- Coordinate comprehensive cancer care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up
- Collaborate with the surgical team on patients requiring oncologic procedures
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and ongoing care
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as a trusted oncology resource for the local veterinary community
- Work alongside highly trained RVTs and dedicated specialty support staff to provide seamless patient care
- Mentor veterinary nurses, technicians, and support staff involved in oncology case management
- Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities through SAGE and the broader Ethos network
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture focused on clinical excellence, compassion, and continuous learning
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Veterinary Medical Oncology (DACVIM - Oncology) or residency trained in Medical Oncology and board eligible
- Strong clinical and communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
- Experience managing complex oncology cases and developing comprehensive treatment plans
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working within a multidisciplinary specialty environment
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and the highest standards of veterinary medicine
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
