Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego - Sorrento Valley is seeking a board-certified Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join our established and highly collaborative specialty team.
VSH Sorrento Valley is a 24/7 emergency, specialty, and teaching hospital where Medical Oncology is integrated into a deep multidisciplinary environment. You'll work alongside specialists in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, Dermatology, Advanced Imaging, and Emergency & Critical Care, providing the opportunity for close collaboration on complex cases from diagnosis through treatment.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Manage a diverse oncology caseload within a sophisticated specialty and referral environment
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Advanced Imaging, Anesthesia, and Emergency & Critical Care
- Develop and pursue areas of clinical interest within Medical Oncology
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as a trusted resource for the local veterinary community
- Participate in the hospital's robust teaching program for externs, rotating interns, specialty interns, and oncology residents
- Mentor and collaborate with highly trained technicians and client care teams
- Participate in clinical research and innovative initiatives through Ethos Discovery
- Take advantage of professional development and collaboration opportunities across the broader Ethos Veterinary Health network
Advanced Technology to Support Oncology
VSH Sorrento Valley provides the diagnostic and procedural capabilities needed to support advanced cancer care and complex multidisciplinary cases.
The hospital's 1.5T Siemens Avanto MRI, 64-slice CT, multiple advanced ultrasound systems, digital fluoroscopy, and fully integrated PACS provide comprehensive imaging capabilities for oncology diagnostics and treatment planning.
Additional capabilities-including six operating rooms, advanced endoscopy, arthroscopy and laparoscopy, a fully equipped ICU, 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care, and an extensive in-house laboratory-allow oncology patients to access much of their diagnostic and supportive care within the same hospital.

What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California licensure
- Board certification in Veterinary Medical Oncology (DACVIM - Oncology)
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary patient care
- Commitment to exceptional patient, client, and referring veterinarian relationships
- An interest in teaching, mentorship, and/or clinical research
- A desire to contribute to a collegial, collaborative specialty environment
